Edinburgh the Magnificent

Festivals, people and joy!

Wednesday 18th - Arrival in Edinburgh

Landed into Edinburgh on time (Wednesday 18) and took the tram to Haymarket where our hotel was. Left luggage and walked into the City Centre, not a smart move but we did it. Headed into the Royal Mile area to do a spot of "people watching", it was fantastic! City is alive with people from every corner of the world. Hundreds of people here for either the Edinburgh International Festival (highbrow)' the Comedy Festival or the Tattoo. Shops were overflowing and certainly the bars were full.
Did the Whisky Centre visit (obviously), bought some nice produce and tasted even better. Eileen did the more sensible shops and a few presents bought.
Headed back to THEhotel. Rested up a bit and then did a recon to find a place for dinner. Found a Nepalese restaurant that we then went to for dinner. Wow! What a meal, tastes were supberb, service was fantastic and price very reasonable. Slept very soundly as it had been a long 28 or there abouts experience.
